Markham RMT For Sports Injury

What is Registered Massage Therapy for Sports Injury?

RMT for sports injuries is a form of massage therapy that uses specialized techniques to help athletes recover from and prevent injuries.

What can I expect from a Registered Massage Therapist?

The first visit is the initial assessment, which involves a clinical examination and assessment of your pain and functional ability. You will then receive a RMT treatment plan and home care recommendations from your registered massage therapist.

Subsequent visits will focus on continuing the healing process by addressing any residual pain or dysfunction that remains after the initial injury. Your massage therapist will also begin to work on your flexibility, which is often a problem in athletes. They may provide additional exercises to keep your body in peak condition so that you can return to action as soon as possible.

Registered Massage Therapy treatments for sports injury:

  • Soft tissue manipulation
  • Joint mobilization
  • Myofascial release
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Acupressure and acupressure points
  • Deep tissue massage
